President of Hestia Construction, LLC
Realtor, Contractor, and Designer Rachel Street is the host of the television show Philly Revival, that follows her as she designs, renovates, and sells homes in her native Philadelphia. Rachel is not your typical "flipper"- she likes to find architecturally interesting properties that are run-down or abandoned, and spend extra time and resources to create exciting modern spaces that also honor the history and unique original features of the home. From original pocket doors and leaded glass to brightly colored cement tile and industrial windows, Rachel enjoys experimenting with both new and antique materials to ensure that no two renovations are alike.
Rachel is passionate about being involved in her community- whether it's repairing homes at no cost for those in need, teaching English as a Second Language, or participating in neighborhood block builds and cleanups. A graduate of Philly's own Temple University, Rachel is also a classically trained singer. She has lived abroad in both Mexico and Italy, where she sang opera for three years, and she is fluent in both Italian and Spanish. After returning to the United States, Rachel began working in her family's real estate business as a Loan Servicing Manager and then Mortgage Analyst and Commercial Loan Originator, helping to underwrite and close over $300 million of commercial loans. During that time, she completed extensive studies toward becoming a General Appraiser through The Appraisal Institute and obtained her Pennsylvania real estate license, as well as learning the ins and outs of property management and development. Following the sudden death of her father, Rachel decided to follow her passion for bringing neglected properties back to life through design, and, seeing a need for something other than the “builder-basic” homes on the market, she founded Hestia Construction, LLC.
To save up money for her first project, Rachel sold her house, which she had previously designed and renovated. With the profits she bought an unrenovated home, and lived in it as she renovated it. One home led to another, and now she buys, designs, renovates, and sells homes full time, as well as leading her real estate team, The Street Group at Compass. Rachel is known for her unique designs and respect for the history of the homes she renovates, as well as her passion for her community. Her construction projects and real estate listings have been featured in many local and national publications, including Philadelphia Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Curbed Philly, Forbes.com, Philly.com, Parade Magazine, Metro, County Lines Magazine, among others. Rachel Street and Hestia Construction have earned many awards, including Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly - Best Contractor” as well as the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Influencer’s of Real Estate “Rising Star Award”, and have placed in Fixr.com’s “100 top Homebuilders at the Forefront of the Industry in 2023” and Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Real Estate Producers.
